India's JSL Signs Agreement with Japan's JFE Steel to Enhance Ferritic Stainless Steel Production Capacity

India's Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) has signed a cooperation agreement with Japan's JFE Steel to strengthen production capabilities for certain grades of ferritic stainless steel. The company disclosed this information in a regulatory filing on Monday, September 7.

Under the agreement, JFE Steel will support Jindal Stainless in improving product quality as well as enhancing the production methods and processes for the ferritic grades specified in the agreement.

Ferritic stainless steel is an important class of stainless steel, widely used across many industrial and consumer applications. Products in this group are commonly used to manufacture automotive components, railway cars and rolling stock, kitchen equipment, industrial machinery, construction materials and many other value-added products. With an increasingly broad range of applications, ferritic stainless steel is considered one of the segments with significant growth potential in the future.
